How the laws of God apply to us in today's society

There are basic principles that govern the world, entirely based on spiritual law.
"Life and death are in the power of the tongue," is one example. Countless studies prove that abusive speech is detrimental, while positive speech enables the healing process. The same is said for our mental health-thinking rightly about ourselves, according to God's Word, is key to emotional wellness. Regardless of gender or creed, this principle is Godly and gives order to all creation.

What about faith? The bible says that faith in Jesus Christ will save us and we are to be doers of the truth we hear by the teaching of the Gospel, not just hearers, "deceiving ourselves". We are likened to a person who intently looks at himself in a mirror, and as soon as he turns away from his reflection, immediately forgets what he looked like. So are we, if we hear the truth but do not practice it. We are then unstable in all of our ways, because our minds are divided between two opinions: good and evil.
And so it is with society, at any point in time, not just today, not just America. Who are we? What is our purpose?
God Almighty has set in motion the course of our lives, graciously giving His Holy Spirit for our comfort, and has given mankind a mission, called The Great Commission, the universal call to every believer in Jesus Christ to share the good news of salvation, to live for the Lord. We, as believers, are called to serve, walking in love toward our fellow man, without partiality or malice in our hearts. God is the God of fidelity.
His law is to walk in love, as Jesus Christ demonstrated in how he lived before
God as a man, being the perfect example of how to conduct ourselves while on Earth, "knowing that we have a reward in Heaven".
So what does the bible say? "Trust in the Lord and do good."
This means He is our sovereign God who loves us unconditionally, and every man's purpose on Earth is to bring Him glory and honor. The laws of God have always been the same, it's just man's ideas of the whole concept that have morphed, raising the seemingly valid question: How do God's laws apply to us today?
More to the point would be : How do we apply ourselves to God's laws?
The answer is in Jesus Christ.
