A tropical drink horizon
heralds the coming dawn
shadows recede westward
another twilight gone
The City stands behind me
poised to meet the day
the sleepy in their bedclothes
can't keep the disk at bay
I walk the sandy shoreline
waves lapping set the pace
I pause to gather pebbles
as the rats begin their race
A splendid glory fusion
of amber pink and gold
reward the few who notice
another day unfold
Our sunrises are numbered
so cherish every one
let awe invade your senses
as Nature unveils her Sun
