Evaluating the comic book to film adaptation of The Hulk

In the fall of 2002 I heard that the Hulk was going to premiere in the summer of 2003 in film theatres everywhere in the month of June. I was like YES! ,FINALLY!, IT'S ABOUT TIME!. When I heard that Eric Bana was going to Play Bruce Banner I was like "WHO"?. I never heard of Eric Bana? Where does hail from? How long has he been acting? Non stop questions circled around my head asking Who the hell was this Guy?

In July of that Year I saw the Film. I was impressed with the Transformation of how Bruce Banner transformed into the Hulk. It was simply incredible and the Hulk looked like How I picture him. Over 12 Feet tall, weighing at least half a ton. Now this was a superhero like Spider Man that I also grew up on, especially watching the TV show with Bill Bixby ( god rest his soul) and Lou Ferrigno in the title role. The Only things I didn't like about the Movie are several points that need to be mention

1- The Gamma Explosion- What happened to the Desert in which Bruce Banner save Rick Jones from instant Death and nearly dies himself as the Gamma Bomb goes off? Hell for that matter How come Rick Jones wasn't in the film?

2-It would have been nice if we saw like a origin of the main villains in the Incredible Hulk comic books like the Leader, Juggernaut, Doc Sampson or anybody of sorts.

3- While the Dog Fight scene was okay It still lack the excitement I grew up watching and reading as a child . On the DVD that I have they show the Making of the Hulk himself It does resemble Eric Bana as the facial features are concern, but my question is this How come I saw the Director Ang Lee do all the Stunts instead of Eric Bana , He is the star of the show but I never saw him once wear the 3d hollow graphic black suit that Ang Lee wears.

But in the Positive aspect , the real show-stealer to me was Nick Nolte as Bruce Banner's Father, David Bannner . Eric Bana stated that this is the best acting Nick Nolte has done in a long time and totally agree with him. The scene which Father and Son are Lock up the military warehouse and they are completely surrounded my the military with General Ross played by the excellent Sam Elliot waiting for the Banner men to transforms into their real Character. I also commended how the Special Effects of the film but the film should have stuck with comic story that we as fans highly anticipated for. In 2008 the Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton as Bruce Banner is coming next summer and also Tim Roth as Abomination in the Lead Villian. The film is to be directed by the Person whom directed the "Professional" with Natalie Portman I hope that this film would be better than it's predecessor in 2003.
