Humor: Fantasy

I am at home first thing in the morning. I am waking up from falling asleep on the couch. I am shaking. No I am not scared; I am in the mist of a beautiful dream.

The shaking is actually being caused by the vibration of the washing machine. I smile thinking how nice it is not to have to do it myself. I briefly fall back to sleep.

I wake up again. This time I hear music coming from somewhere toward the back of the house. The sound of the T.V. is very loudly coming from the direction of my bedroom. I yell for it to be turned down and drift off again.

When I awake later in the day I decide to walk through the house. The floor is vacuumed, dishes done and the kitchen floor is immaculate. I can smell the most appetizing smells coming out of my oven.

I turn and notice for the first time that the table is set. There are two places with wine glasses by them. Candles are in the center of the table. My normally bare table is wearing a red silk table cloth and heart shaped place mats. I start looking for my daughter. The house is awfully quite to have an infant in it.

I find a note in her crib. "Honey, I took the baby to grandmas. Be back soon." Why the note is in the crib I have no idea. I mumble something to myself about telling him to put things where I can see them. I walk through the rest of the house and find everything is in its place. I begin to worry. The first thing in my mind is what he did wrong.

Well, like everything else this had to end too. I woke up for real. My living room looks like a tornado ran through it in the night. The only proof it did not is that the furniture is still upright. I hear a wailing sound coming from the direction of the babies room. She is crying.

My husband is snoring. I can hear him through the closed door. I wake him to tell him about my dream. He looks at me like I am crazy and asked if I dreamed up a way to pay the maid in my mind.

Well, I can still dream.
