If and why we fear death

by Warren

We fear death as we do not know where we are really going. Our natural curiosity makes us want to know the type of place we are going to and the type of treatment we will receive.
We fear death as we do not want to leave life, with all its trimmings, like the natural richness of wealth, joys, happiness, sorrows, achievements, family,fr iends and relatives. We do not want to die as the rest of the world lives on, why should that be? Is it not unjust, as one man lies on his bed dying the rest of the world goes about enjoying all the pleasures and the pains which life has to offer.
We fear death as we are going on the journey alone, we are so used to having company in this world, from friends and family, that the feeling of being abandoned and alone, makes us fear the whole idea of death.
We fear death, as it brings us to the shocking realization that we are not immortal, which we all hope we are,but that we can die.
If we fear death it is because we are just human, so we all have the fear of the unknown.Even the stuntman and the daredevil will have an ounce of fear. People who live dangerous lives and who do not fear may have damaged or somehow numbed that part of their brain which fears death.
