Poetry: Kissing

Long Awaited Kiss

I figured it would be
A meeting like the rest
We would say hello
The most at best

But as we talked
Something was there
I knew I shouldn't
But I didn't care

Much of my life
I had waited for this
Just for once
I tasted your kiss

As you held me close
Looking into my eyes
There was no way
For either to disguise

Years of longing
Finally set free
I couldn't resist
Your hands on me

As they searched
Much like your lips
I softly touched you
With my finger tips

As we parted
Both of us knew
There were no regrets
It was long over due

I held a dream
In that moment in time
When I was in your arms
And you in mine

I think you felt
The same way as I
As our lips parted
And we whispered goodbye
