The Diner Restaurant opened its doors about 50 years ago. You can order as they call it "British Fayre" which includes items such as Steak and Kidney Pie, Fish and Chips, Shepherd's Pie, Bangers and Mash, or you could get a lighter item such as a Jelly Omelette or a Clubhouse sandwich.
While you are enjoying your meal, you will see pictures of the queen, as well as Princess Diana, pictures of London which you will also see on your placemat, and cute little knickknacks as well.
It feels like the experience of going to London, without taking the long plane ride.
Even Stella, who owns the restaurant is British who can tell you stories of growing up in England and she is really sweet and funny.
Here is a funny fact, Stella joins the Point Grey Fiesta Days Parade every year and is driven in a Bentley, dressed as the queen.
The prices are quite reasonable and they offer breakfast all day. The portions are big enough for several people to share.
You definitely can't find that atmosphere anywhere else in Vancouver. The Diner is located at 4556 West 10th Ave. in Point Grey and is unlike any other restaurant in Vancouver.
