The best way to boost your children's self- confidence is to follow these steps.
Communication: First and foremost you have to communicate with your children. You children want to hear about your experiences and the things you have done in your own life. They want to hear about your daily endeavors. This doesn't mean telling everything but certainly there is a lot that you can share. Once you share your own experiences it takes the burden off the children to share their experiences. They will be more willing to express themselves.
Cheer: Be a cheerleader for your children. Always find ways to encourage them and inspire them. Accentuate the positive. When you find them doing something good let them know and inspire them to keep up the good work.
Words: Be careful of the words you chose. Your words can speak life or death into someones life. Use words like, "That was fantastic", "Way to Go", You can do it". "You are so smart". "Tell me what you think". " You are so precious". "You are so special to me or to us." Children just love to hear these types of words. They are motivating and uplifting and it will make a child go to sleep at night with a smile on their face.
Set Goals: Set goals with your children. Let them know about some of your goals. And help them to establish their own goals. When They reach an achievement cheer them on.
Allow them to fail. Let them know that it is okay to fail or have a setback in life. Don't put pressure on them to become world beaters Just try to learn from that setback. Let them know about a time you had a failure. Give them examples of professional athletes or professional executives that failed. Once they know that failure is a part of success and it is OK in life that gets rid of the stress and anxiety.
