Will the iPhone revolutionize mobile computing. The true answer coming from an employee of a major mobile telecommunications company; consumers will make that decision for themselves.

Will this device become very popular, and will it offer some unique services not offered by other mobile devices? Yes it will!

Although the device does boast a more than ample plethora of high technology features in a single device. It does not offer anything on the market that current wireless devices don't already support.

There are some highlights I would like to mention like the proximity sensor which is a great power saver. The iPhone also has a touch screen and a rather large 3.5 inch viewing screen. My particular favorite part of the iPhone is the web browser feature. Sure most phones can surf the WWW, but the iPhone has a unique option that utilizes the touch screen to zoom in (double tap) or to stretch the image (two finger utilization), which offers a unique surfing experience. Some have dubbed this feature as the "rubber Web page stretching technology".

So my answer to whether iPhone is going to revolutionize mobile computing would be absolutely not! There are too many other devices offering the same features or more in some cases. So by the time all cellular carriers support the iPhone most if not all the other cellphone manufactures will surely release at least 3-4 other devices that will give it a run for it's money.
