Title: Playing Fasa types games(Mechwarrior, Shadowrun)
Article: Many people are interested in role playing games but do not
want to journey into the past and fight dragons. That is where
FASA(origionally) came in Shadowrun was a game that took place in the not so
near future, for some reason humans were mutating and magic had been
released. You could play many meta types like ork, elf, or dwarf.
Technology may be the way you wanted to go with a decker or cyberlinks to your
vehicle. Strength could also be addresses weather natural or
cybergenically enhanced.
It took greed more into account with doc wagons fighting over who got
to pick you up. You could play in the almost destroyed citiy of
chicago, the tribal lands, or the futuristic Seatle to name a few.
In Mechwarrior you coukld be the piolot of a many ton battlemech, or
one of many of the cast it takes to keep them running. Be it a clan
memebr invading the innersphere, an inner sphere warrior defending his
house, or a xchampion of Solaris 7 a good time was had by all.
It is too bad that the only way you see these games now days is as a
straight shooter and not the all inclusive role playing games or
yesteryear. May the makes see the error of their ways and bring back these
great games.
