The vast and ever-growing world of Video Games is enhancing more and more as the years go by. Genres come and go and games grow old and weary until a brand new sequel hits the market and then life is grand again! Some of the greatest video games of all time however are not recognized and are greatly under-rated; such are the ones that I am going to list right now.
I am a fan of fiction, and any game that plays the role of a story to me, is a game worth playing. A lot of the Role Playing Game's in the genre however usually prove disappointing, I am going to list a few of the games that have become my favorites over the years, as well as the reasons.
1) Suikoden (Series)
The Suikoden series are a legendary, yet under-rated Role Playing series. In all of the games, you take control of the protagonist, all with different stories, but all which end up following the story of a 'One of the 27 True Runes.' Your quest is to unite the 108 stars of destiny to win the struggle against evil, invading armies. Despite this, this is NOT a War-game, this is a Role Playing Game, with turn based battles. Along with the turn based battles however, come the Military and strategy based 'Major Battles' which often take place on a mini-map and you pit your forces against the enemy. The final battle type is the one on one Duel battles, where the word your opponent says depends on their attack, these are often the hardest battles to win. Along with an epic story in each game, many memorable battles, sequences, dialog, mini games and an astonishing, mysterious and unique cast of characters per game, the Suikoden Series is easily one of, if not THE best yet most under-rated RPG series to ever be created.
2) Lunar: The Silver star
Lunar was released first on the Sega CD in 1990, and quickly began to set the ground-work for future games in its turn based Genre. While compared to today's standards, the game is short and seemingly less memorable, but with an awesome cast of characters and an unforgettable story, it's hard to forget! Lunar was the first RPG I ever played, and the reason I play video games today. The story follows a young man named Alex who is on a quest to become a Dragonmaster like his fallen hero, Dyne. Along his way Alex encounters friends, enemies, betrayals and slowly uncovers the truth about Dragonmaster Dyne and the Goddess Althena. The battles once again are turn based, the dungeons however are similar to labyrinths, and you will get lost easy and have
