Ty Cobb is the greatest baseball player of all time. Yes, I know everybody continues to claim Babe Ruth. But, no one remembers that is was Cobb that was voted the best ever by the sports writers of there generation. He was the first player inducted into the Hall of Fame. Ty holds the record for the highest career batting average. He held the record for the most career hits long than Ruth held the record for most home runs. Ty Cobb stole home an amazing 54 times. A record that will NEVER be broken. Ruth is only considered the modern greatest player of all time simply from Americas love of instant gratification, aka, the long ball. If Ty Cobb had his career in New York and Ruth in Detroit this would be a now contest. Ty Cobb would STILL be revered as the greatest ball player of all time.
