In my life, I have always thought that i lead a miserable life and that my parents don't love me. I even thought that they were always punishing me and not my brother. I thought that my life is so stressful and that no one cares about me. Boy, was I so wrong..
Now that I am grown up, I have come to learn about many things - including cherishing my life. I realised that my parents brought me up well. If not for their strict disciplinary actions with me, I would not have become what I am today.
My parents gave me the best they could afford, even though it may not prove to be much to other kids. To me, they meant the world. I had many things that even kids in third world countries dare not dream of. I had Barbie dolls, miniature cooking toys, Polly Pockets and racing toy cars. When I went to school, my parents gave me assessment books and forced me to take up calculus classes. Tough as it seems, they gave me the best education possible for me to enter university.
I have come to cherish my life, be it smooth-sailing or full of ups and downs. I have come to realise that I am much more fortunate than many other children in the world. I have my parents, my friends and all my loved ones with me. No matter what happens, they will be there with me. So I must cherish my life and live on, for my loved ones' sakes.
