Personal experiences with music

The sun had been beating its 98 degree rays upon our backs for quite some time now. My friend and I were exhausted and on the verge of suffering a heat stroke, but we were still ready to rock out. We were eagerly anticipating the next band to pick up the neatly assembled instruments on the stage. 10,000 others were waiting along with my friend and I. We were arm to arm before the stage about to take part in one of the best concerts in our young lives; about to imprint another memory that would last through to the very end of our existence.

On a Thursday, during the 3rd of August, I had gotten up to change into an outfit that I had excitedly picked out only 2 weeks before. Since the news had called for scorching 98 degree weather that day, I decided to pile on the banana smelling sun block that was only a few squeezes away from retirement. Finally, I got into the car and my mom and I drove to my friend Maria's house; we were about to go to Warped Tour.
When we arrived at the Tweeter Center where the tour was held, Maria and I rushed to see when each of our favorite bands was playing. There were eight stages and each band had their own time to play on them. It took us awhile to find out which stage was which, but we eventually figured them out. The band we got to get the closest to was "Billy Talent". Their music filled all of us with excitement. The group of us, which included an array of studded belts, dyed hair, and Converse sneakers felt the music take our troubles and worries away. I felt very comfortable with everyone because I knew that we had shared this music together like it was our own and we used it to connect to each other ; even though we were complete strangers. So we continued through the day listening to the music and avoiding as many crowd surfers as possible. At times, my friend and I had to rest inside the Tweeter center to keep from fainting. We traveled back and forth, from one side of the stadium to the other so that we would be able to get to all the stages. Some of the other bands that we saw were: Joan Jett, The Academy Is, and Motion City Soundtrack. At this point, the staff at the Tweeter Center had volunteered to hose us down because of the heat. My friend and I ran through the water that was sprayed at us and relieved that the sun was going down. The final band, called Armor for Sleep, was a favorite of ours and we got to their stage 15 minutes before they played in order to get a spot up front. This proved a bad idea when the numerous crowd surfers had gotten up front and were hitting me in the face. My camera had just about died during the last band's performance, but I had still gotten pretty good pictures however. This event was very exciting to me. I loved every moment of it. The heat was not a factor for me because I had gotten a chance to hear all my favorite bands, spend time with my friend and connect with a whole bunch of people that I had never even met before.
Finally, my mom picked my friend and me up and we told her about our experience. She had given us a little anecdote about how she had remembered her "good old days" and was glad we had enjoyed it. Despite being in desperate need of a shower and sleep, I didn't even want to leave. It defined my summer and it made me incredibly happy. I can't wait until next summer to hopefully relive this experience again
