The Internet has become an essential part of basic computing for some of the following reasons. Most business have adopted web based programs for almost every system they use. When using your home computer there is always something that you want to do that involves firing up your favorite browser. And now with sites like www.youtube.com there are millions of videos available to watch.

There are some problems with such wide use of this worldwide network that you need to watch out for. I'm sure many people have problems with slow computers or applications that don't work right and other little annoyances. The thing that you need to realize is that when you use the Internet, not every web site out there is looking out for you best interests.

First there are some safe software installs like the Google tool bar. while this type of software provides a benefit to the user you have to remember it does take up room at the top of your browser window. There are also other tool bars that may include spyware or ad ware. There are also other software applications that promise to provide a service that include malicious attacks like key logging, browser hijacks or just simply logging all information about websites you visit etc. Some of these even install programs that start up with your computer. The more programs you have starting with your operating system the slower the computer will be.

To avoid getting this type of software on your computer research everything you install. You also have to watch out for web pages that want you to install something to access their content. So if you come across something you might want to try do yourself a favor use Google and find out what experience other people have had.
