Coach is one of my favourite bag designers and I recently have had very good luck at getting them at great deals at their boutiques. Here are a few suggestions in finding a great deal on Coach bags, which can also be applied to finding other great deals on other brands.

1 - Know when they they are receiving a new collection or line. All you need to do is just call up your local boutique or retailer and inquire. When a new collection comes in, something has to go to make room for the new goodies. Even if the boutique does not reveal the exact day, when you know the approximate date, you can call and ask what the price of your bag of choice is in order to know if they are having a sale. Discreet and smart.

2 - Get on their VIP customer list. That allows you to be able to purchase their classic items that will never go on sale, at a special discount rate that they give to their preferred customers. I inquired how this status is determined, but the salesperson did not know. She told me that headoffice determines this, and I am guessing that they base it on such criteria as frequency of purchases, and what items you have purchased before. etc. Multiple small purchases can probably get you on this list as well.

3 - If you can, stick with the same salesperson that helps you because, at least with my experience, they are great and are really dedicated to helping their customers be able to purchase the bag of choice. If they know you really like a bag, they will most likely call you if that bag ever goes on sale.

I have tried finding good deals at their outlet stores, but have had no luck. In fact waiting for a sale or a VIP event has proven better than shopping at the outlet. I never make purchases on-line unless they are from reputable retailers because you can't inspect what you are buying and I never want to risk my hard earned money being wasted on a fake.

Getting great deals is just as much fun as purchasing a designer bag (if not better!)
