How to survive a storm or natural disaster

by J-rae

You always hear the stories where people are trapped at days or weeks at a time and end up sick or dead because they were not prepared for a storm or other natural disaster.
You should always have a at least 3 first aid kits. You should keep one for your home, your car, or your safe place such as your cellar or basement. You should have a first-aid manual for just in case reasons. Also you should have the following items in your first aid kit.

You should have: Adhesive tape, sterile gauze, antibiotic cream, band aids, ibuprofen, hand sanitizers and wipes, tweezers, scissors, thermometer, ace bandage, instant cold packs, a couple pairs of plastic gloves, emergency numbers, soap and calamine lotion, also it wouldn't hurt getting a mouth piece for giving CPR, also have a flashlight for each person and extra batteries and a radio.
Well now that you have your first aid kit, you need a couple other kits too. Have a kit that has some blankets (pack a couple extras.) And different types of clothes such as jeans t-shirts jackets, boots, tennis shoes, water proof clothing. Make sure each person in your household has a few outfits, and some of the rest.
The last thing you should have is a kit of food and water. Make sure each person has a couple gallons of water each. Bring plenty of food that is easy to eat and open. Something that does not require being cooked, such as dried meats and fruits. You can eat can foods not cooked if it comes down to it, but you have a chance of getting sick from it.
Now that you have your kits ready there are a couple rules. If you are far from any help, do not stray off from your group most people die from that. If you know where you can get help and it is near by make sure the danger is gone before you go. But stay where you are, and if things start getting desperate then find help.
Most of all do not be negative. Most people lose their hope and give up which leaves them more vulnerable to dying. They just give up on their lives. Don't! Do something that calms your nerves, Pray, or sing or something. Don't give up.
