Cars are a form of transportation. Not a form of showing-off, which what many teens prefer to do. I personally, think that parents should pay for their childrens' vehicles. Their vehicles and insurance, gas on the other hand is on them.
They need something safe, reliable, and durable. Minimum wage would not be able to pay for their gas, and their monthly payment. Paying for their own gas and a little allowance is probably the max you would get out of one of their jobs. That would sometimes limit them to driving around, because no money no gas. No gas no driving. It all works out in a way.
If the parent has different points of views, then they will have to sit down and think. If they don't want the teen driving around, they can make the teen pay for the vehicle and gas. It all just depends on the parent.
