I respect teachers the most, but the last thing I would want to be is a public school teacher. Their job is worse than being an air traffic controller.
Here's why.
Teachers are bossed around by every shareholder in the education system.
-Teachers are bossed around by students.
-Teachers are bossed around by parents.
-Teachers are bossed around by principals.
-Teachers are bossed around by superintendents.
-Teachers are bossed around by school secretaries.
-Teachers are bossed around by custodians.
With no power or control over your circumstances, why would you want to be a teacher?
False accusations of sexual abuse...
Demanding parents who want teachers to up their children's mark to allow them to get into a good college...
Principals who want teachers to let parents walk all over them...
Working with kids who have bad breath and don't shower ever...
I could list more, but ultimately I think teachers deserve to be paid more than professional athletes. I'm serious.
If teachers continue to get paid peanuts, all it's going to do is attract individuals who have no interest in teaching, but who only want to be around kids for perverted reasons...
