This is a true story. Well, as true as it can be.
It was late, and I was tired. I had just gotten out of a bar in down town LA (however, I wasn't drinking as I am not of age, so the things I viewed were not clouded by any imbibing you make think I had participated in.)
Walking down the cold, wet streets of LA, late at night, I saw something that will haunt me forever, and has since caused me to keep my cabinet of survival gear well stocked, and made me install a better defense system on my home.
Walking towards Echo Park, I was passing Temple, where it bisects Glendale, and I saw two large men, shambling drunkenly down the road. At least, I thought they were drunk, at first.
The path I was taking would lead me right by them, which I was hesitant to do because drunken people are unpredictable. But, I didn't really have a choice and, at the time, I saw no problem with simply passing them.
However, as I got closer, keeping my eyes averted towards the cold cement, something felt off. They were not loud, like most drunks I knew, in fact, they were mumbling and began to stumble faster as they approached me.
Looking up quickly, I had just enough time to see the looks on their hideous faces. Their disgusting countenances will be etched into my memory forever. Their faces had numerous lacerations, their eyes were dead, and grey, and their broken chipped teeth could be seen as they snarled loud, and viciously. Suddenly, I knew my life was in jeopardy, but it was too late to simply run. They were already too close.
The tall one on the left in the grey suit managed to grab a fist-full on my black jacket, and pulled me toward him. Acting solely on instinct, I threw my weight to the side, taking him down to the ground hard, and planting a solid kick into the stomach of his associate.
Once on the ground, the "man" lost his powerful grip, and I took off like a bullet down the street. While running, I pulled out my phone, but suddenly realized no one would believe me. There was nothing I could do.
So I did the only thing I could think of, I stocked up on canned food, bottled water, extra clothes and ammunition. I have a small pup-tent, a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun, 48 bottles of water, 50 cans of food, boxes and boxes of shotgun shells, 3 extra sets of all clothes, water purifying tablets, a K-Bar combat knife, and I am just waiting for the inevitable invasion to commence.
It was merely 3 days ago that my life was almost taken by these roving members of the zombie species, but I'm sure soon, people will be seeing what I saw. I just hope they are all as prepared as I am.
