If I had to give a tip to a senior citizen on dating it would be, have fun, be yourself. It's too much work to try to be someone else. At this age, we are pretty darn comfortable with who we are. Many of us are also comfortable with our lifestyle and would not change easily for anyone.

Do we believe in "true love"? It's more like we believe in truthful love where there are no pretenses or false persona. We're not desperate for a companion (except for a few) but we love to go to concerts and ball games. We like many different things.

Seniors are indeed wiser in many respects, but there are still dangers in senior dating and emotional involvement.

I think that it would be well to remember, that some seniors have emotional baggage just like others do. There are people of all ages who will not face up to, and resolve, life issues and prefer to live in that comfort zone of avoidance. That person may be a nice date but would make a miserable marriage partner.

There are naive seniors, widows and widowers for example, who may have lived in the protective shelter of marriage for so long, they do not see the danger of being bilked by a 'ardent admirer'. Dishonest and crooked characters exist in all stages of life.

My best dating tips to seniors; go slow in relationships. Watch out for red flags. Take time to know a person before committing any thing to them. It's the same advise I would give to anyone.
