Are gays and lesbians any less human than straight people? I don't think so. So why should homosexuals not be given the same rights as any other human being!

I find it interesting that this topic keeps coming up, again and again. Why? If we want to be treated fairly in life, then we too must treat others fairly. There might be a lot in the world that we 'disagree' with or think is 'wrong' but surely if we want to live in a peaceful society we must accord others the same respect we desire.

Is it only because homosexuals seem to be a minority that heterosexuals find it acceptable to deny them rights heterosexuals themselves have? Does that mean then, that if homosexuals were a majority that heterosexuals would find it justified to be suppressed and discriminated against?

Or is it because those that oppose equal rights raise their voices more than those who don't. Well, if that is the case, then let this be my way of raising my voice and saying 'it's not ok to discriminate on any basis - race, religion, or sexuality'. Let us all raise our voices together and hopefully one day, equality and fairness will be no longer be exclusive to those who are white, male and heterosexual.
