Poetry: Pain from love

Always With Her

Dreary at first, than frantically,
like a wide-eyed jacketrabbit,
she rises high on her haunches
searching over the tallest sweetness
and beauty that Mother Earth has given.

They rotate in half circles, alert,
straining, listening deep into the
whistling of the wind for the slightest
difference of the melancholy music.
When will the sweet songs sing?

Electrified nerves battle within.
She is unsure of herself, she ponders,
and waits patiently for the mysterious
and ominous danger that is inevitable,
as she cares for the ups and downs in her life,
but, she senses no danger.

Her children will never leave her heart.
They are glued to her very being, and
they will never be lost. They are
the ups and downs of her happiness.
But, will they ever be accepted?

She rises on her haunches
and takes in the fresh aromas
of a new spring day.
She begins her search once more,
always alert, she waits for love
and the time of total acceptance.
