The United States should not have a universal health care system for everyone. While yes we do pay more for health care then other industrialized nations we also get treatment faster. If everyone could go to any doctor at any time then people would flood the hospitals when they fall down and get a simple bruise. If it doesn't cost any money what is stopping people from just going and asking for a band-aid. These trivial problems are not necessary for a already overwhelmed health care system.

Also our current health care system allows for capitalism to take control. We pay higher costs and get higher quality treatment because the better doctors charge more and the okay doctors charge lower rates. It encourages competition and competition drives doctors to become better so they can in turn charge more. Also the patient is smart and if they don't want to pay more they can always try to find another doctor or go to a different hospital. The point is that making health care universal would eliminate the peoples control over the health care system and put it into the hands of a very inefficient government.

Health care is a growing problem in America and we do need subsidized health care for those who can't afford it, however to make or force everyone to pay for a system that the majority don't agree with is wrong.
