Assessing our responsibility to preserve the environment

The question isn't whether or not you believe in global warming its whether conservation of natural resources is important. I don't care whether you believe in global warming but you would be stupid if you didn't believe that industrial nations have more then others. When you buy that SUV you are not only purchasing a vehicle that gets terrible gas mileage, which may or may not contribute to a "warming globe," you also are spending excessive amounts of money on more then you need. Rather then buy a hybrid or smaller car to help the environment use the money you didn't spend to help out someone in need. Put the money towards AIDS/HIV research. That problem is well documented and very prevalent in the world today. No one can deny the epidemic that is HIV/AIDS. While scientist spend billions researching global warming/cooling or whatever you call it they fail to recognize that people are dying every day so what does it matter if the world does warm up. Technology can be developed to deal with whatever problems result. Why not just be conservative and use only what you truly need and share our great wealth with the world. The next time you fill up your Ford Excursion or Hummer just think that all that money you are putting into a car could go to a much nobler cause. If everyone would just give a little more and take a little less the world would be better off and maybe cool off or stop warming. If you don't want to buy that compact car because you want to stick it to the Global Warming left wingers like Al Gore, buy it because morally you believe in a world without poverty and HIV/AIDS.
