They let Paris Hilton out of jail early. So? They put her in jail? So? Am I really supposed to care about this? Apparently, since it has been all over the television, internet, etc., I'm supposed to care. I guess I'm supposed to have an opinion on this person and her situation. But the only opinion I can muster is one of complete and total apathy. I really just don't care.
And why should I care about her? She's famous. Okay, for what? Because she's rich? Bill Gates has more money than Paris Hilton, yet we are not constantly bombarded with the trials and tribulation of the Gates family. As I type, he could be out getting drunk and his wife could be sleeping with the gardener, yet we won't hear about it. But I'm sure if Ms. Hilton changed her toenail color, someone would report on it. And they would know which shade she used and where she had it done.
We're discussing someone whose greatest achievement is a really bad homemade porn. I mean seriously, what else has she done? There was the Carl's Jr./Hardee's commercial, but I don't see any other commercial actors getting this much attention. She can't sing, can't act, and at least in my opinion, she isn't that attractive. So again, why am I supposed to care about what she does or what happens to her?
Is there an audience for this stuff? Because if there is, I want to know who they are, for they very well could be our problem. If there are people listening to, or worse, caring about what happens to Hilton, they must be stopped. It's time for a proactive stance on Paris Hilton. We all must take a hand in stopping this before it goes any farther. Smack the mouse out of someone's hand if you see them about to click on a story about her, and for goodness sake, don't read it yourself. Turn the channel when the news begins to discuss her; we have a remote, people. It's time to utilize it. And when someone says "Have you the heard the latest about Paris?" just politely tell them to shush and say, "The bleeding has to stop."
On some level, we have all created this, and only we can stop it. For my part, I will never write another word about Paris Hilton. This I can swear, wholly and honestly. And those in the know may want to destroy this article once it has been read and its message digested. And may we all live in a world where real news is reported, and Paris Hilton is simply forgotten.
