Shopping at the supermarket may be a weekly affair but it may affect the budget to a great extent. It involves a substantial cost every month. Let's find out a few ways by which we can save money at the supermarket:
1. Eat fresh: The first and the healthy way to save is to eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Avoid spending on the packed or the preserved eatables that involves extra cost for the same amount of product.
2. Planning: Always plan before you go to the supermarket. Make a proper list that will tell you what to buy and how much.
3. Distraction: Don't get distracted with a superior looking product when you want to purchase a different one. Sometimes appearance may distract you and let you spend more.
4. After meal shopping: Grocery stores always attract with the hot and crunchy meals e.g. Subway at Wal-Mart, mostly attract people if they are empty stomach. So, always try to have your meal before you go out for shopping.
5. Water: Always carry a water bottle with you which will prevent you from buying another mineral water bottle from a grocery store.
6. Coupons: Remember to clip your grocery coupons from Sunday's newspaper which bring a great saving on your groceries.
7. Flyers: Check the weekly flyers for deals and coupons for your weekly savings.
8. Shop Alone: Try to always shop alone because kids normally compel us to buy their sweet stuff which can increase the bill to a great extent.
9. Rain check: Rain check can help to a great extent in saving. If a product is on a deal and it is not available at that particular time, you can always ask for a rain check and can buy it later at that particular price.
10. Double or triple the coupons: There are many stores in the United States who double and also triple the manufacturer's coupons which brings a lot of saving.
11. Price Match: Last but not the least, price matching is one of the best option offered by many stores. If any competitor store is offering a lesser price for the same item, your store will match the price, thus saving your money.
12. Deals: Watch for the best deals like buy one and get one free items. It is yet another way to save money.
