Ways of working: Your approach and attitude toward work

Whatever you do to make a living, determine that you are going to do it with excellence. Do it to the best of your ability. Strive to be the best at what you do.

Your attitude has a lot to do with how successful you will be in the working world. If you are able to find something that you want to do, that you feel is worthwhile, then you will want to do it well.

Have confidence in yourself and your abilities. Be able to cope with adversity. When you have developed your earning skills to the point that you are excellent at what you do, difficult situations and people at work will not set you back. Be confident.

If you really want to do what you are getting paid to do, you will provide a better service, a better product to the customer/client; people will want to avail themselves of your business or the company you work for. Your customers, clients, co-workers, and your boss will become aware of your positive attitude. This positive attitude will carry over and be reflected in all areas of your working environment.

Your attitude has everything to do with whether or not you will succeed in the workplace, in how you approach what you do to earn a living, either with your own business, or working for someone else.

Be positive. Stay focused on ways of working that will create positive and productive relationships in the workplace. Be willing to work with your fellow employees to come up with creative solutions to problems and challenges at your place of employment. Be willing to engage in a constructive give-and-take approach to problems and decisions that must be made. If you have serious differences with co-workers over a project, for example, be forthright and straightforward in expressing yourself. Be honest. Try to separate the people from the problem.

Work hard, but more importantly, work smart, work productively. Make the energy you expend at work count for something.

Be excellent at what you do.
