Guide to Chinese martial arts

China is truly a nation with a rich history of martial arts. The only nation that even comes close to matching its contributions in this area is Japan. There are hundreds of martial arts that originated here and almost all of them were perfected here. China is a true martial artist nation.

One style that is exclusive to China is Wushu. It literally translates to "martial art." The meaning used to be more broad but now refers specifically to the exhibition sporting event. The sport was created by China and is derived of bits and pieces from numerous marital arts. Jet Li is a noted practitioner of the art.

Kung Fu is another art exclusive to China. This is one of the most well known and widely practiced martial arts in the world. It is also sometimes called Gong Fu. In Kung Fu motivation, self discipline and existential acceptance are the keys to progression down the Path of Buddhahood.

In these days the term Kung Fu comprises a number of different martial arts. The term is applied to mean Chinese martial arts as a whole in many cases. It is attributed a link to Buddhisism that is integral to the proceedings.Shaolin Kung Fu is the most popular specific form of Kung Fu.

Chinese martial arts are vast and varied. The terms are broad enough to comprise a lot of martial arts but that does not make thema ny less relevant. China has been producing some of the best martial arts for hundreds of years and any acknowledgment of the achievement is a good thing...
