Over use of painkillers in the u.s that contains codeine has now been changed to a drug called Hydrocodone which is a synthetic version of codeine.It is stronger and has less side affects than original codeine the reason the over use of the painkiller in the u.s. is because everyone who has an ache or pain runs too there nearest doctor and says my knee is hurting then that is usually good for atleast twelve or fifteen painpills then they see the effects of the drug has on them then they say well lets go back to the doctor and tell him we are hurting really bad and need more painkillers to maintain pain relief and the majority of the doctors who write them say that there is a better pain relief value from Hydrocodone than with the regular Codeine.

Since 2001, there was a jump in Hydrocodone presriptions written in the U.S. by 45% then
in 2003 it went up to 75% from 2001, cause the pain association said because so many people in the U.S. were in pain that they couldn't keep that many records on how many presriptions were written in the U.S. one thing that has a cause for this is that american's have become morbidly obese and out of shape and having more on the job injury's than any other nation in the free world because the americans are lazy people
