Guide to parental control software

I'll introduce you some free tools/extensions to protect your family from Internet pornography and other baleful websites.

(1)iProtectYou - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/i protectyou.html
# This is a freeware for version 3.06. It allows to block e-mails, chat sessions and instant messages that contain inappropriate words, stop annoying ads, and/or restrict internet time to a pre-determined schedule. And there're many other options for parents to block certain sites, newsgroups and so on. In a word, it's a very good and easy to use program to restrict internet access.

(2)NetDog Porn Filter - http://www.netdogsoft.com/
# This software is mainly for blocking porn sites. You can download the free trial version today. It applies effective & efficient filtering algorithm to block all porn sites. And after you install the software, it will fully integrate itself into windows operation system and be compatible with all kinds of web browsers. You don't need to manually configure it at all! So easy!

Hey, if you mainly browse with FireFox like me, here are two extensions for you to surf the Internet neatly.
(1) FoxFilter 3.0 - https://addons.mozilla.org/en- US/firefox/addon/4351
# FoxFilter is a personal content filter that helps prevent stumbling onto inappropriate content and block access to specific content and Web sites. It also includes password-protected security features to change settings, access Tools/Add-ons and access "about:config".
(2) BlockXXX Home - http://singlepointnetworks.com /ffext/blockxxx/
#BlockXXX scans the actual HTML document for tell-tale words and phrases. If it finds these words it disables all images and hyperlinks on the page. And it uses a statistical analysis algorithm to determine whether a site is pornographic or not.

Firefox extension is easy to install and use, however, the extension can only work with Firefox. So according to your situation, choose the right one for your family. Or maybe try them both for double protection.
