The curse of the lonely man is time,
Time to think, time to reflect and time to feel.
Thinking about the people that walk to and fro past my window
Smiling and cursing, laughing and joking
heading somewhere I do not know.
Connected like parasites to a giant web of friendship and bloodline
missed if not there and taken for granted if present.
If only I could be taken for granted.
I gaze into space no focus on anything and reflect.
Reflecting on how loves hand once held mine so tight it caused me to smile
And how loves sweet scent filled my head with its musk
dizzying my senses.
How once the world stood still and for a moment all was right.
and how it fell through my fingers and slipped out of reach
before I had the chance to wrap myself completely in its warmth
And now all I have is time to feel
Although alive I feel cold to touch
and even though blood flows through these veins
I feel like Frankenstein,
A monster made of parts all of which do not fit together
Like some jigsaw of emotions and thoughts forced into shape
but with a picture that is distorted
Sitting here waiting and hoping that the wind will somehow
carry my dreams and hopes into the arms of another
who like me feels ...lonely
