Groom's guide: Garter toss dos and don'ts

by Mj Ferruzza

Created on: June 04, 2007

I married into a pretty white bread family of
Cheesehead Wisconcin-ites. They love the Packers
and they love to party. At the reception, I decided
to turn the tables on them and wear an Indianapolis Colts
logo encrusted Bow Tie and Vest. And to top all of that off,
I even donned on a Colts baseball cap when the dancing started.
My wife had no trouble rounding up a large group of women to
catch her bouquet. When it was my turn to go for the garter,
nary a man in the room came about for its launch. I bent to
one knee and lifted her gown, revealing her stocking and leg.
Again, no crowd of testosterone-laden gawkers. So, like any
quick thinking (1/2 popped) groom, I decided on a new tactic.

I yelled out loud, "Oh No! The garter has a PACKER logo!"
Of course it didn't, but it did bring about 40 Packer crazy
men and boys to my vicinity.
The reception then went on without a hitch!
