PERSONAL INITIATIVE
(PUTTING YOURSELF TO TASK)
Vrtually everything we do on earth is born out of initiative, but whether it is personal or collective is another issue altogether.
Personal initiative could be described as a divine instruction that is given to the principal actor, which only he (the principal actor) can interpret. It is important to note at this point that personal initiative is a choice like every other choice be it love, hate, life, death, success, poverty, malice. They all have alternatives.
Initiation is the act of starting something, whereas initiative is a new approach to a thing or an attempt to resolve a difficulty. However, initiative is not necessarily doing things in a new way, it could also mean getting ahead in the old path without anyone telling you to do so.
Personal initiative is a major reason for many so called breaks or phenomenal successes in history. People who saw needs and found solutions to them are the leaders of our time.
Personal initiative is the ability to create, nurture and actualize a God given plan through His creative ability. It can also be described as the effective communication of ideas, visions and dreams for a particular result. There are three classes of individuals:
(a) Initiators (b) Motivators (c) Achievers
Initiators.
These are those who possess the ability to create innovations. They are those who are not afraid to take the first step and get started before others. They are usually people of vision. These groups of people, however, most of the time are bad finishers in that they often abandon the project due to fear, discouragement etc.
Motivators.
Motivators are those who make sure that a vision does not die. Though they might be good innovators, they are indispensable in any undertaking. They encourage initiators to bring their tasks to a finish. They accomplish this directly by giving advice, assistance, words of encouragement or indirectly by actually being good finisher i.e. when one who is an initiator sees what the finisher he admires has accomplished, he will be motivated to continue.
Achievers.
They are the people who are not only satisfied with the initiation of a project but are those who ensure that the project is brought to completion. They do not rest till the goal they have set is achieved.
There are some resources that are required to fulfill any vision or project e.g. money, raw materials, manpower and skill, building materials, time and technical know-how, marriage, spirit rebirth, education
