The trick to this question is that it is not specific enough. Should Disney allow anything to be on their community sites intended for children? Most people would agree that they should regulate what appears on their sites for the benefit of the younger folks. By not being specific as to what community sites this question really doesn't allow for a good answer.

I'm for freedom of speech but with that comes responsibility. If a site is geared towards adults and designed to be an open forum then no regulation should occur. However, if I have a site geared towards all ages on say, the topic of music, I as the site's administrator should be allowed to regulate some of the content for my audience.

The key is not to confuse regulating a site to make the content fit the demographic or safeguarding your public from the idea of censoring a site so that no opposing thoughts can be presented. Using music as an example: Let's say we're discussing the topic of brands of musical instruments. If someone opposes my personal stance, as a responsible administrator I SHOULD NOT edit them, after all, the difference of opinion is valuable. But should a person use profanity and slander users of a certain brand or include sheer nonsensical statements then it would be beneficial to my 'public' to regulate what appears on this site. This is true from both a service angle (giving your public the most benefits of your site) but it is good business if your site is generating some type of revenue. We've all seen unattended forums turn to garbage due to spammers, ignorant troublemakers and so on.
