Spiderman and Venom have an intense history together where Spiderman is the character who fights for good and venom, well , fights for himself which is bad!

Both Spiderman and Venom have super powers and are probably as strong as one another. The difference is that Spiderman is a hero with values and sensitivity. This gives him the edge over Venom who is driven, not by his wish to make the world a better place but by absolute rage and revenge. He is unable to relate to his own feelings or those of others.

Spidermans intelligence, knowledge and understanding would help him to outwit the evil and emotionally undernourished venom. All Venom knows about is violence and aggression. If the tables are turned and Spiderman uses psychology and plays on Venoms vulnerability then Venom will surely go down. He will be left mentally defenseless against Spidermans superior emotional intelligence.

To top this, although Spiderman was created by becoming a combination of a man and a Spider he is a complete being. Venom was created by a man being combined with a supervillan. This is bound to have left him feeling confused as to his identity and could lead to indecisiveness and mixed feeling as to future actions. This would be highly detrimental for him when up against the well rounded personality of Spiderman.
