Although an idea like this one may be appealing at first, it will definitely fail in the long run, especially in primary and secondary schooling. Separating the sexes, in base theory, is appealing because it offers the possibility that children will be unable to be distracted by things like flirting or simply impressing members of the opposite sex. This, however, is not the case. By separating the sexes, serious communication problems will most certainly develop in these children, due to the fact that the children will be unable to socially interact with members of the opposite sex. This could lead to serious problems in later life, and could very negatively harm society if this was introduced nationally. There could not possibly be any good that arises from this, simply because, not only does it harm the students' ability to communicate, it also fails to improve concentration. The old saying "Boys will be boys" sums it up enough. You can't change the way people are, no matter how much you seperate and them and try and "force" them to oncentrate. It simply doesn't work. The people who come up with these, "ideas" (I can hardly call something that ridiculous an idea) are simply out to try and win public favor. It is, quite simply, a a dumb idea.
So how to keep kids more focused in school? Let them take classes they WANT to take. For ecample, if they are interested in a career in auto-mechanics, why make them take Algebra II? It is pointless, and encourages disinterest and a general apathy in school. So do not separate the sexes, especially if you are just looking a "quick fix" method of keeping kids interested in school.
