Cell phones are a 20th century phenomenon and an invaluable communication tool in today's society. My personal love affair with a mobile / cell phone began in 2000 and is still going strong. It has seen through various lovers, and cars, and I am still in love with it.
There is something about a cell phone that makes it very addictive, maybe it's the ever changing face of it, with new tools within it, that can continually amaze the people who own them. Mobiles have infiltrated everybody's life in one way or another, and somewhere along the line, costs us a fortune.

As it is so prevalent in today's society, its not that hard to admit that I used to text and have long conversations while driving, as well as smoke, take notes, eat my lunch, and receive oral sex, if I wanted. The freedom of the open road 500bhp at my command, sunshine and the wind in my hair, it doesn't get any better. It's my car and my responsibility, right.

I paid for the all the driving lessons and tests, the licence to drive, the actual car including its value added tax at 17 %, road tax, petrol and it's tax, MOT and finally Insurance to drive my car. Bearing in mind the rules of the road, I will drive as I wish and if I have to answer a call or make one for that matter, while I'm driving, I can't see why I shouldn't. Nor can I believe anyone has the right to stop me. Is it not my personal decision whether to make a call or answer one while driving? Why are these interfering nincompoops stopping me from doing what I want?

Unless we all take a long hard look at it, from a victims point of view, we will never fully understand or truly appreciate the heartache and misery a gadget like a cell phone can actually cause

.The problem still exists to this day, where no amount of Tax or Insurance would ever cover me or mine, if (God Forbid) a fatal Road Traffic Accident where to happen, and I were the one who causes serious injury or even death. RTA's (Road Traffic Accidents) are on the rise and it's only a matter of time, if your in possession of the wrong attitude on the road, that the chances any one of us make an error and cause serious damage, increase. The idea that 'it will never happen to me' tempts fate for all of us and I personally would rather err of the side of caution than to lose my life, or effect others in theirs.

As a seasoned driver I understand the need to keep my eyes on the road, because when things change they change incredibly fast, and anyone who has been in even
