I'm not totally sure what the title implies, but it is certain we are losing more of our privacy daily. New advances in photography, audio and other spy sciences are making just about every aspect of our lives similar to being trapped inside a a multi-camera-filled Las Vegas casino. No matter what we do or where we go, there may be a camera spying on us.

Is this all bad? Of course not. We want cameras and microphones to pick up bank robbers in action, illegals trying to sneak across our borders, thieves stealing in retail stores, violent criminals in prisons, dangerous drivers on highways and suicide bombers attempting to get through airports. We must do everything possible to prevent sudden attacks on our nation from the air or from space, and protect our military when they patrol in hostile areas. As the world gets more dangerous, we need more spy cameras.

I agree that the cameras and microphones are necessary in many aspects of our everyday life, and most of us are willing to give up some of our freedom in exchange for more safety. However, there is no way to predict how far the spying will go. There must be legal constraints put in place to protect our privacy, with frequent considerations for changes when new technology is introduced.

Unchecked intrusions on our privacy can only lead to a total police state, with "Big Brother" watching and controlling our every move. If that's already a privacy crisis, we need to monitor it very carefully.
