The excitement, beauty and wonder that go along with fireworks displays can best be seen in Chicago. On the eve of Fourth of July, you can sit along the lakefront at the Navy Pier and enjoy the booms of the fireworks in an impress array of fireworks. Each year the displays are bigger, brighter and better. They usually last 20 minutes and are continuous the entire time.

Christopher Bell conducts the Grand Park Orchestra for the festivities, playing favorites like America the Beautiful, Stars and Stripes Forever, Bell of Chicago and The Star Spangled Banner. It really is an all day event with vendors, activities and crowds of over a million people.

On July 4, there is another event that is a 10 minute show over Lake Michigan. While not as grand as the previous evening there is still music and lots of people. There are even cruises offered with a fine dinner and a night on the water with the Chicago skyline and the fireworks in full glory.

Not just one great night of fireworks and patriotism, Chicago offers two nights in a row.
