The popular search engine, Google, has recently launched several different web-based applications that allow users easy access to many features similar to Microsoft's Office Suite, without the hassle of downloading software.
Google Docs and Spreadsheets, also known as Google Documents, is just one of Google's many available products. This web-based combined word processor and spreadsheet designing program allow users to create and print documents and even store them online.
Although you can certainly save your documents onto your computer in a variety of different formats, Google also offers you the option of storing your documents online. Because your documents are saved onto the Google servers, you can access these documents from anywhere that offers internet access, anytime. You can even send your documents via email to any mobile SmartPhone or PDA.
If you really want to make the most of Google Documents, you should definitely check out their collaboration feature which allows you to work on online documents with other users. Call up your classmates or your team members and get started on that group project today. Together you can make dynamic spreadsheets for up to 40 sheets, or create other documents under 500K.
The only real drawback to Google Documents, of course, is that they offer a limit on the amount of documents you can store in your online account. While you can use the word processor and spreadsheet creator to produce infinite documents that are stored on your computer, the Google servers will only take a certain amount so be sure to only keep currently active documents or small archives online.
Even still, Google Docs and Spreadsheets offer users the opportunity to create documents online without the need for downloading bulky word processing or spread sheet generating software.
