How to make the most of Google Documents

As a writer, I always longed for something that I could use on net to store my writings apart from normal emails.Google Documents served my purpose.

Google Documents serve you to write documents,save and upload them online.You can also publish them online and invite your friends to view them.You also can email them as attachments.Google documents support HTML,RTF,text document formats.


You have all the features of a rich editor such as fonts,styles,font size,colours,etc.

It is a real time editoable system where multiple users can view and edit at the same time.There is a log that tracks who has published and made changes and at what time.
You can control the access to your documents,likewise you can share them to only a specif group of people whomever you want to by just typing their email ids and inviting them to read.

There is no hassle of downloading your documents,editing them and then uploading. You can do all of these online.That doesn't mean you can't save the files into your system.Yes,you can very well save them if you want to.
Also your work is safe since it is hardware independent.

You need to have a gmail id for logging into google documents. Once you login with your email id, on the left hand side you will have a link that directs you to the google documents.

On the upper right corner that are tabs for sharing your documents and also publishing on web it if you wish.
You can control the access when you publish. You can also revert back once you publish if you like to withdraw it.
A 30 day trial version of Google Apps is available for you to share your documents in your company.

You can also preview your document and print them directly form web if you iwsh.

There is a facility to add collaborator at the bottom of the page.

You can insert images,links Comments,tables,bookmarks from the Insert tab.

You can keep track of the revisions or updats you made to your document under the Revisions tab.

You also have a facility to edit your HTML code.
