for league titles.
In addition to the predictability, another factor that is turning fans away from the Premier League is the huge salaries and inflated egos that accompany the game's top players, plus the prima donnna behaviour, diving, etc that depresses most genuine football fans. There was a time when fans could identify with their club's players. The players were just like them, except that they'd had the good fortune to be able to win a living from playing football. I would advocate, though, that you also pick teams to follow in the other English Football League divisions. The chances are that your chosen teams will be battling tooth and nail, either for promotion, a play-off spot, or to avoid relegation right up until the final weeks of the season.
