Central Park in New York City is a remarkable place to bring the family and enjoy
The Marionette Theater; The Central Park Carousel; The Mother Goose Statue; The
Central Park Zoo and Conservatory Water.
Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater is home for a small children's theater
with design workshops. The gorgeous cottage was placed in the park in 1876.
Hansel and Gretel and Cinderella are just a couple of the productions performed
here. The children get caught up in this magical event.
Located at Mid-Park and 64th street is the vintage Central Park Carousel. It's hand
carved horses attract 250,000 riders each year.
A granite sculpture of Mother Goose sits at 71st street for kids of all ages to
enjoy. Attractions located in this same vicinity include: the model boat pond,
a statue of Alice and Wonderland and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Central Park Zoo is the highlight of many visitors stay. The zoo is divided into
two separate areas, the petting zoo and wildlife. The zoo features more than
1400 animals and 130 species. The Leaping Frog Cafe serves snacks.
The Conservatory Water or model boat pond is the center location for radio-powered
model boat races to take place. Visitors can rent their very own model boats at a
nearby wagon rental. The pond also draws bird watchers to this lovely area.
As you can see here, there is endless possibilities to keep the family entertained
at Central Park. Time and space would allow me to only name a few. In closing,
I would like to recommend to young couples to take a romantic carriage ride which
takes you on a tour of Central Park.
