Poetry: Observing

The fun was had,
the story written,
fingers numb,
puts on a mitten.

.. Mind,
sharp as a tack.
Cigarettes,
had a full pack.
Lungs,
cough up and hack.
Thoughts,
come flooding back.

..Morning slumber,
try to avert
with coffee,
the words I blurt.
Keep awake,
now stay alert.
TV news,
shovels dirt.

Brain,
warming up.
Hands,
around the cup.

Eyes ,
on the screen.
Evil,
too much is seen.

..Too much for me
no more will see
bury head in sand ,
........write poetry.
