All food we eat has vitamins and minerals that we need to keep healthy and provide energy to our bodies, for healthy growth of the muscles and cells and to keep our hearts and other parts of the body healthy. Getting the right vitamins and minerals in our diets is important to stay well and fit. Sometimes, though, our diets don't have enough vitamins and minerals in them as recommended and we start lacking in vital nutrients in our bodies. Living an active lifestyle and in today's life mostly everyone should use some kind of vitamin supplement. Without the proper nutrients you can feel tired, lack energy, your skin, nails and hair can suffer and your whole well being can be affected making you feel run down and not looking or feeling your best.

A dietary supplement will help to replace vitamins and minerals that are lacking in our bodies and help restore the body's natural balance. A supplement can be in the form of capsules or tablets, liquids and drinks, food and energy bars, ground seeds and oils. You can buy multi vitamin tablets in most health shops, chemists and pharmacies. These are very popular dietary supplements and help to give you the extra vitamins and minerals the body needs. Other popular supplements include multi B vitamins and vitamin C. There are so many different dietary products on the markets that it's difficult to make a choice. But generally multi vitamins are the best and vitamin C. Non vegetarians might like fish oil supplements to help them restore amino acids in the body which have a great effect on the body and growth of cells, help to balance your body energies and restore your protein levels. Vegetarians might opt for flaxseeds and linseeds.

Whatever you choose you can always find out if you are lacking in any vitamins, minerals and proteins in your body by doing a test which is available from most GP's, nutritionists and some health shops. It's a good idea to do this as some health problems might be related to vitamin, mineral and protein deficiency and your doctor or nutritionist can help you with diets and dietary supplements to back up your current diet.
