An Ode to my Sister on her 21st birthday

I'm wishing you love on your 21st birthday- now I'm old and decrepit (well I am nearly thirty).
Your whole life before you; so many chances for parties, accomplishments, pride and romances.
Life's what you make of it, the goodness and badness, ecstatic joy or lingering sadness.
With so much potential you cannot go wrong. May the rest of your life be a funky soul song,
With lyrics of nightingales, loved ones and friends, of maybes and hopefullies and happy ends.
Through study and thought, in work and in play- you've many good qualities (I'll list if I may:
Unique and articulate, lovable, kind, beautiful, generous) a really rare find.

So welcome a future with no limitation, with surety, happiness and no protestations.
Your innocent naivety? It has now flowered, to maturity,wisdom, and leaves you empowered.

The point of this ditty- I'm sure you now see- is... in all these great features... you take after me!
