Before I address this I must say "rolemodel" is the key word. Though there is a shortage of living African American rolemodels. Lately I have been accepting Barack Obama as a role model. He's had his up's and down's, and I don't know about you but I'd rather hear advice from somebody thats been through what I'm going through. I don't believe he's been through exactly everything I've been through. But he has given me something to look at and think about what I could possibly do or be. Now, as of improving the number of African American students entering college, I say lower tuition costs, giving more African American loans, grants and scholarships. There are many places to get a loan, but its so much to get approved and even more to attempt to pay back. The whole college process is painful, increased stress comes when you have made mistakes in the past. Colleges, and society in general are unforgiving. Lower so many standards, let us black people even get a chance instead of shooting us down at the door.
