Yes, I feel that this would be necessary.

Currently we are seeing more and more kinds of supplements and herbal remedies popping up in the market, each promising to deliver different benefits etc. Due to our busy lifestyles, we tend to turn to these supplements and remedies for convenience sake. Since the usage of such health items is bound to be on the increase, it comes naturally that the FDA should regulate them to protect the interests of consumers.

This is especially so since a large portion of these natural supplements and herbal remedies seem to target women interested in slimming down and would require long term usage. It would be pretty disasterous if one were to find out that what they were taking was harmful and contained harmful substances only when their bodies started showing signs of the negative side-effects. In other countries, there have already been cases of women suffering from liver failure due to certain substances present in slimming pills sold on the market. Furthermore, we may also be using these products on our children as well, which reinforces the need for regulating these supplements and remedies.

Lastly, with the FDA regulating such natural supplements and herbal remedies, this would also increase our confidence of buying such items and would certainly encourage busy individuals to purchase such supplements to make up for the nutrition which they may lack daily due to their work or other commitments. With all the potential benefits possible, I feel that the FDA should regulate natural supplements and herbal rememdies.
