Child abuse is a growing issue in the world today. I am not just talking about beating your child or hurting them. I am talking about abuse as neglect and emotional as well. All to often today I see people who are raising their siblings children or even their children's children. The parents are not taking a stand. It has been more wide spread for a father to often leave and not take care of his child then it has been for a mother. But now they both are leaving and not sticking around. What I don't understand is the fact that a father can get up and leave and no strings attached but a mother that has carried this child in her for 9 months can neglect the fact that the child is even there. Thats how we fall into young adults and teens having so many issues. You cannot say that you would not feel neglected if your parents had up and left you with someone else to raise you. These children are doing bad in school, getting in to trouble, and worst of all not having any respect for themselves. If those children do not make something of themselves, the only ones who can be held responsible are the parents that abandoned them. Then it becomes a more vicious cycle because the children have their own kids, and then chose to neglect them because their parents didn't stick around so why should they? As you can see child abuse is not only physical it is emotional also. We need to break this cycle stand up for kids that do not have a voice and can stand up for themselves.
